What we do

Loan portfolio transactions

Loan portfolio transactions require a vast knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding loan provision, consumer rights, transfer of and exercise of securities, but also risk allocation between the contracting parties. Due to experiences gathered through more than a quarter of a century, our banking team can handle every aspect of such a transaction. We are proud that apart from structures of portfolio transactions well-known in Hungary, we had the opportunity to build-up new solutions (e.g. forward-flow) too.

Corporate Finance

Besides providing legal services to banks and financial institutions, we also represent companies during their negotiations with credit institutions on credit facility agreements or the restructuring of their existing loans as well as their collaterals. When helping debtor companies through such a complicated process, we are aware of our clients’ business operations, needs, and business strategies.

We have advised several start-up companies as well as traditional financial institutions introducing fintech solutions about their planned innovations. The key areas of our banking team concerning fintech cover contactless payment solutions, electronic money issuance and distribution, digital payment solutions, open banking, API driven billing solutions. We are proud that our banking team is the contributor of the Hungarian fintech guide of Mondaq and our partners are regular speakers of fintech-related conferences.

Along with our litigation team, we can represent our clients in lawsuits both before ordinary courts and arbitration courts. We have also gained experience before the Constitutional Court and international forums. See more

Establishment, licencing

From the very beginning of the creation of the Hungarian commercial banking sector, we have been participating in the establishment, restructuring and licensing of several financial institutions.

Complying with a constantly changing legal environment may be challenging even for the largest financial institutions. Our banking team, however, has gained an in-depth knowledge about the daily operation of financial institutions based on which we can help to adapt to newly introduced rules. During the years, we provided legal assistance to the biggest Hungarian banks and financial enterprises as well as several credit-intermediary agents. We have followed several investigations led by the regulatory authority in the course of which we have gathered significant knowledge regarding the practice of the regulator.
